Ms. Shurrita Yvette Washington, 38, of 1415 14th Street, Columbus died Sunday, April 13, 2008 at Columbus Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, April 18, 2008 at Bread of Life Christian Center, 4510 Oates Avenue, Columbus with the Pastor Bishop L. D. Skinner, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow at Main Post Cemetery, Ft. Benning, GA according to People’s Funeral Service of Columbus, Inc. 1604 Talbotton Road. Visitation will be today from 1:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
Ms. Washington was born December 28, 1969 in Escambia County, Pensacola, FL daughter of Elder Lenn C. and Alice M. Williams Washington.
She leaves to cherish her memories other than her parents; a loving daughter, Kelli K. Washington; sisters, Pamela Johnson (Vincent Johnson), Dawn L. Klauman (Galen Klauman), Robin N. Pugh (Joseph Pugh); Brother, Lenn C. Washington Jr. (Octavia Washington); Grandmother, Mattie Anderson; nieces, Jade A. Johnson, Kayla M. Klauman, Nuria A. Pugh, Anna E. Klauman, Ashley Washington, Nicole Washington, Audrey Washington; nephews, Alexander L. Washington, Joshua L. Pugh, Pernell Washington, Lenn Washington III; 7 aunts; 3 uncles; several other relatives and friends.

Lenn & Alice I want you to know that your entire family especially Kelli have our deepest sympathy and that we are praying for GOD to heal the emptiness of your loss and give you strength. I know that you will miss her loving smile, her tender heart and her loving ways but one day you will see her again. Shurrita has been a fighter and now she won’t have to fight anymore God has taken her into his loving arms. Thank GOD Shurrita is home safe at last. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” GOD BLESS YOU ALL !!!

We have been together longer than anyone can ever know and I feel as though your children are my children. This is the time of “celebration”.For our daughter has Fought a Good Fight and now she has gone on to a great reward. May God forever Bless and keep you all is our prayer.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time of sorrow. As your friends have said, she is whole again. She is in no pain, she is singing and smiling. I know that she is keeping a watchful eye on you just waiting for the time you will all be together sharing His magnificent glory.
Give Pam a hug for me, she and I work together. Sorry I couldn’t be there for her.
