F.L. Hood Mitchenor
Mrs. F.L. “Sister” Hood Mitchenor, 70, of 1126 Bel Mar Street, Columbus, died Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at Columbus Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at Sweet Home Baptist Church, Box Springs, GA with the Pastor Rev. Willie J. Nelson officiating. Interment will follow at Wright’s Cemetery, Box Springs according to People’s Funeral Service of Columbus, Inc.,1604 Talbotton Road. Visitation will be today from 1:00PM until 7:00PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Mitchenor was born September 7, 1937 in Box Springs, daughter of the late Robert Lee and Minnie Daniels Sparks, Sr. She confessed Christ at Sweet Home Baptist Church and served faithfully on the Usher Board, Missionary Board was Assistant Mother of the church and a member of the Lovely Ladies Club. Mrs. Mitchenor was retired from Fieldcrest Textile Mills, Phenix City, AL
In her passing she leaves to cherish her memories a devoted husband, Tommie L. Mitchenor, Sr.; 2 loyal and supportive daughters, Pricilla (David) Hood and Yvonne Perry; additional children include Mae D. Crowell, Edna (Johnny) Dukes, Willie Hood, Jr., Freddie (Carolyn) Hood and Tommie (Darlene) Mitchenor, Jr., 2 aunts, 21 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and dear friends.
