My dear Melanie,God gave us one last chance to go out and talk, have dinner, forgive each other and remember the special bond between us. We laughed about all the capers we pulled, the, antics of our rebellious years, and eventually our blossoming into God fearing, righteous, young ladies. You lived your life to the fullest and brought laughter and straight craziness to all whom you loved. You taught me many wonderful things about relationships and loyalty. You loved to shine and I know you are shining in heaven.Your parents did a wonderful job raising you. I am so sorry that I did not come by and watch movies with you that night when you called. I will see her tomorrow I thought. I was wrong.I love you Mel. More than you will ever know. Dang girl I helped to teach you how to dri ve, took you to get your license, and you were with me in the Atl when things were rough. But we partied like rock stars…yes we did. I love you my sister.Tell God I love Him and tell Her I love her too. Give Jesus a kiss for me.
I know that you are watching over us. Be happy and continue to be free. I love you…
To the family of Melanie. I pray that God’s Peace will fill each of your hearts during your time of sorrow. I was in one of her classes at Clayton State. God bless you all.
I miss that smile, you always have that special glow to light up a dark room. You always have us cracking up to those silly jokes you use to tell, and then some jokes don’t even be funny, when you laugh everyone is laughing with you. You have always been so silly with that finger in your mouth, remember the squirrel you put in the mail box. We had some good times, you even put the curls in the Petra braids we had. Bunkerhill, KingsMountain, and Monmouth was the only three streets that you would find us, unless we were in Elvin’s car. The orange one with the rat stickers Da piper and Da poka Keroy, wow we use to chill and trip off them names boy. I remember when your parents put the bars on your window, but i’m not going there Pookie. You will be missed, and i know that you are in a watching down upon us from heaven, angel. We love you and miss you very much…

She was the type of person that you could never get mad at because when you argued with her she would do her best to make you laugh. I have nothing but great memorys of her and how she helped me to grow up and see other parts of GA. She also kept me out of trouble with my mom. and when ever there where sad times or happy times she was always there to enjoy them with you. I pray for peace in your hearts. Love Latrice

I had the pleasure of knowing “Mel” when we attended Georgia Military College. I want to send my condolences to the family. I was sorry to hear of her passing today. I want to express how much I loved and cared for her. I hate that I put off going to see her on so many occasions. I knew very well that she would be here tomorrow. I am deeply saddened that I will never have the chance to spend time with her anymore. I can’t believe she is no longer with us. She was so young, full of life, and would fight for what she wanted. Mel I Love You and I know you’re in a better place, so I will not cry for you. May God bless the family.

Melanie, my friend, my sister. You were truly a star and I wish I would have taken the opportunity to tell you how much you meant to me. You always left that unforgettable impression on everyone you met with your outgoing, fun-loving personality. If only I could hear your laugh or a crazy joke from you again. I miss you so much but I take comfort in knowing that you are with God. I send my condolences to the your parents that everyone knew you loved so much. I love you always, you will not be forgotten.
