Nettie Y. Nichols, 62, of Athens, died Tuesday, September 2, 2008. Graveside services will be 12PM, Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at Porterdale Cemetery, Columbus. Visitation will be 12noon until 7PM Monday according to People’s Funeral Service of Columbus, 1604 Talbotton Road. Survivors include sons, William & Anthony Nichols; brother, James Andrews; 4 grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Quincy Orlando Hammons, 13 of 3037 Waddell Drive, Columbus passed Sunday August 31, 2008, at Columbus Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, September 6, 2008 at Abundant Life Full Gospel Outreach Church, 6001 Buena Vista Road, Columbus with the Rev. Melvin Perry officiating. Mr. Clarence L. “Bear” Evans was born in Farmerville, Louisiana on April 1, 1952 to Elner Gean Evans. He graduated from Eastside High School in Farmerville, LA. Bear, as he was known by family and friends served 3 years in the United States Army in Germany and Ft. Benning. A native of Louisiana, Clarence was a long-time resident of Columbus, Georgia.
