Mrs. Betty Doris Overshown, 65, of Columbus, GA passed Friday, October 24, 2008, at Columbus Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11:00AM Saturday, November 1, 2008 at Sweet Union Baptist Church, Jacksonville, TX. Interment will follow at Jacksonville City Cemetery according to People’s Funeral Service, 1604 Talbotton Road.
Mrs. Overshown was born February 21, 1943 in Jacksonville, TX daughter of the Virie Lee Johnson of Jacksonville, TX and late Rufus T. Williams. She was preceded in death by her husband Grady B. Overshown. She was in the nursing profession for 25 years. Other than her mother, she leaves to cherish her memory 2 sons, Robert A. Overshown, Columbus and Stanley Gray, Houston, TX; a daughter, Sonia O. Mustafaa, Columbus; brother, Edward Nettles, Dallas, TX; 2 sisters, Marie Owens, Flint, MI and Wanda Reed, Jacksonville, TX; 7 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
