Mr. Charles Kearse, 69, of Columbus, GA passed away November 9, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, November 13, 2008 in the Chapel of People’s Funeral Service according to People’s Funeral Service of Columbus, Inc. 1604 Talbotton Road, Columbus. Interment will follow at Beallwood Cemetery.
Mr. Kearse was born April 29, 1939 in Olan, SC son of the late McKinley Kearse and Rolmell Kearse. He was baptized at an early age at Gethsemane Baptist Church in Bamberg, SC. He moved to New York in 1956. Charles worked for Piana & Sons Package Co., Black Pearl Car Service and Camden County School District as a truck driver.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Rolmell Kearse, Columbus, GA; his wife, Ruthamae Kearse, Bamberg, SC; 4 brothers, Herbert, Brooklyn, NY, Conrad, Smithfield, VA, Lucious, Apple Valley, MN and Vernon, Columbus, GA; 4 sisters, Helen, Bellmawr, NJ , Florine, Linda and Marie all of Trenton, NJ; 4 sisters-in-law, Diane, Brenda, Margaret and Candice; 1 brother-in-law, Irving and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
