Mrs. Edna R. Dawson, 83, of EL Paso, TX formally of Columbus, GA died Monday, February 2, 2009 at Sierra Medical Center, El Paso. Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon Saturday, February 7, 2009 at Wynnton Hill Baptist Church, 2620 Buena Vista Road with the Pastor Rev. Bruce Alford officiating. Interment will follow at Green Acres Cemetery according to People’s Funeral Service of Columbus, Inc. 1604 Talbotton Road. Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until 6:00PM Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Dawson was born February 7, 1925 in Birmingham, AL daughter of the late Will and Odessa Pace Harris. She was a Domestic Worker for many years prior to moving to Texas, a self-made woman, gourmet cook and seamstress. Mrs. Dawson loved Wynnton Hill Baptist Church its deaconess, Choir and all special events activities. She leaves to continue her legacy and cherish her memories her dear and devoted son Edward Gregory Dawson (Christine); a dear daughter Janice Elaine Dixon, EL Paso, TX; a brother Vular C. Harris; darling grand and great grandchildren Edward Gregory Dawson, Jr., Charley Dixon, Carlo Dixon, Christopher Dixon, Jordan Maya Dawson, Cateri Dixon and Jaden Michele Dawson; a devoted cousin, Willie Mae Robinson and a host of other loving relatives, church members and dear friends.
