Addie Lee Peters
Mrs. Addie Lee Peters, 97 of Decatur, GA , formally of Columbus died Sunday February 15, 2009 at Dekalb Medical Center, Decatur, GA Graveside services will be held 12:00 Noon Friday, February 20, 2009 at Green Acres Cemetery with Pastor Allen Page and Minister Andre Kennebrew officiating according to People’s Funeral Service of Columbus, Inc. 1604 Talbotton Road. Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until 6:00PM Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Peters was born August 1, 1911 in Waverly Hall, GA daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Will and Jessie Huff Mathis.
Grandma or Aunt Sis (as fondly called by her family & friends) was proceeded in death by her husband Jacob Henry Peters. She is also proceeded in death by her three children, Addie Ruth Kennebrew, Marvin Peters, and Mathis Peters. Mrs. Peters was the last of the ten children of her parents.
She served many people in her role as an insurance agent, Avon representative, and church member at Holsey Chapel C.M.E. church, where she sang in the choir. The impact she had on her family through the giving of her time, talents, and treasures goes unmeasured. Many relatives and friends can share stories of how Grandma or Aunt Sis went out of her way to love others. After being a member of Holsey Chapel almost all her life, she moved to Ellenwood to live with her granddaughter and grandson in law (Anitra & David) where she joined Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Tucker, GA
Mrs. Peters leaves to cherish her many fond memories four grand children:
