Mrs. Jimmie Lou Morgan, 67 of 5835 Millbranch Road, Columbus died Thursday March 4, 2009 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, March 12, 2009 in the chapel at People’s Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Green Acres Cemetery according to People’s Funeral Service of Columbus, Inc. 1604 Talbotton Road. Visitation will be from 1:00PM until 7:00PM Wednesday at the funeral home. The processional will depart 1223 Dogwood Avenue at 11:45AM on Thursday. Mrs. Morgan was born March 6, 1941 in Columbus, GA daughter of the late Ike and Lillian Livas Shanklin. She was a 1959 graduate of WM H. Spencer High School, attended Phillips College and retired from Muscogee Manor Nursing Home as a Dietician. Jimmie was a member of Allen AME Church. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Clinton Morgan, Jr.; a son Quinton Lamar Morgan; 3 daughters Venus Demarlo Jones, Gail Johnson and Michelle Grant; 2 sisters Debra Ann Willis and Paterica Cox; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; mother in law, Carrie B Morgan; 3 devoted sisters in law, Jeanette Day, Clarice Billings and Tammy Timothy; and a host of other loving relatives and dear friends.
