Mrs. Shirley Louise Rutherford, 70 of 3210 Clay Street, Columbus died Wednesday March 4, 2009 at Doctors Hospital. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM today, March 11, 2009 in the chapel at People’s Funeral Service with Rev. J C Flagg officiating according to People’s Funeral Service of Columbus, Inc. 1604 Talbotton Road. The processional will depart 3227 Lee Street at 1:30PM. Mrs. Rutherford was born May 24, 1938 in Columbus, GA daughter of the late Felix Calhoun and Lillian Dixon. She was a homemaker and united in matrimony to Otis L. Rutherford. She leaves to cherish her memory: Otis L. Rutherford, Sr.; 4 sons, Rory L. Rutherford, Marcus Rutherford both of Columbus, Otis L. Rutherford, Jr. and Cesar Jones both of Atlanta, GA; a daughter Mary Copeland; A loving friend and life partner, Bobby A. Jones; 2 brothers, Sam Dixon and Gregory(Gladys)Williams; 2 sisters, Rose Williams and Gladys Dixon both of Columbus; 4 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and a host of other loving relatives, neighbors and dear friends.
