Mrs. Alvounia Blackman, 89, of 2425 Williams Road, Columbus, died Saturday, October 3, 2009 at Vista Care of Franciscan Woods. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, October 6, 2009 in the chapel at People’s Funeral Service with Rev. Sidney McKoy officiating according to People’s Funeral Service of Columbus, Inc. 1604 Talbotton Road. Visitation will be from 4pm to 6pm Monday, October 5, 2009 at People’s.

Mrs. Blackman was born May 30, 1920 in Tallapoosa County, AL daughter of the late Arthur and Claudia Jennings. She was a homemaker and a member of Church of Christ, Naples, FL.

She leaves to cherish her memories a son, Lewis Jennings of Phenix City, AL; a daughter, Princella Poole and husband Lorenzo of Detroit, MI; brothers, Alfred and Chester Jennings of Dadeville, AL; grandchildren, Sharon Owens and husband Michael of Bloomfield Hills, MI, Stephen Fitch and wife Carol of Naples, FL and Lorenzo Poole and Melisha of Southfield, MI; 5 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
