SFC (Ret.) James Wright, Jr., 71, of 3100 Lansing Avenue, Columbus, died Sunday, November 1, 2009 at his residence.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 6, 2009 at The Infantry Center Chapel, Ft. Benning, GA with United States Army Chaplin Maj. Douglas Hoover officiating. Interment will follow at Main Post Cemetery, Ft Benning with full military honors accorded according to People’s Funeral Service of Columbus, Inc. 1604 Talbotton Road, Columbus. Visitation will be Thursday, November 5, 2009 from 1pm until 6pm with a family hour from 6pm until 7pm at the funeral home.

SFC Wright was born August 9, 1938 in Greenville, SC son the late James and Emma Jean Duckett Wright, Sr. He retired from the United States Army with over 20 years service and was also medically retired from Civil Service after more than 15 years of service. He could eat fried chicken, collards, rice and gravy everyday!

He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Frances L. Wright; brothers, Milton Wright, Randolph Wright and Quienton Wright; sisters, Jean Kinard, Geraldine Wright, Juanita Wright, Vernice Wright, Patricia Wright, Joyce Fadihunsi and Cynthia Larkin; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
