Rosa Lee Toney, 77, of 901 Joy Road Lot D22 Road, Columbus, died Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday , November 13, 2009 at Lewis Memorial Baptist Church, 1022 Adair Ave., with the Pastor Rev. Benjamin McGruder officiating. Interment will follow at Green Acres Cemetery according to People’s Funeral Service of Columbus, Inc. 1604 Talbotton Road. Visitation will be Thursday from 1:00pm until 6:00pm and the family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 7:00pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Toney was born September 1, 1932 in Cataula, Georgia daughter of the late Annie Simmons. She worked as a cook at Azalea Trace Nursing Home.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband Alvin Toney; sons, Hubert C.(Bernice)Staples, Jr., Larry(Veronica)Brown, Sr. both of Columbus, Marvin(Betty)Brown, Gardenia, CA and Clarence(Tina)Brown, Atlanta, GA; a daughter, Annie (Darryl)Tolbert, Columbus; 16 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; a close cousin, Rozella Thomas and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
