Rose P. Wiggins, 93, of 4012 Merrywood Ct., Columbus, entered into eternal rest Thursday, February 11, 2010 at her residence after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held 2:00PM Tuesday , February 16, 2010 at New Revival Christian Center, 5325 Forest Road with the Pastor Reverend James Herring, Sr. officiating. A private Interment will be held at Main Post Cemetery, Ft Benning, GA on Wednesday according to People’s Funeral Service of Columbus, Inc.1604 Talbotton Road. Visitation will be Monday from 1:00PM until 6:00PM at the funeral home. Mrs. Wiggins was born July 27, 1916 in Cusseta, Georgia daughter of the late Carrie Eze Boone and the late Grover Robinson. She was the widow of CPT Arthur E. Wiggins, together they reared three daughters while traveling to duty stations stateside and abroad. Mrs. Wiggins was among the first women of color to own and operate several small businesses and did so successfully for many years. She was known as a “professional fisherman” to all that knew her. Her beautiful memories will continue to live on in her daughter, Patricia Ashley(Cleveland), brothers, Coleman Robinson(Alice), Columbus, Samuel Robinson(Angie) and Willie Robinson(savannah) both of California, Henry Robinson(Bernice), New York; sisters, Grover L. Hollis(john). Iola R. Burgess, Ella Fitzpatrick(James), Columbus; grandchildren, Yasmin Florence(Tony), Palmetto, GA, Kenneth Robinson and Jeffery Robinson, Columbus, Denny Evans, New Jersey; Mattie Thornton and her loving caregivers, Bernice Terry and Frances Smith and a host other loving relatives and dear friends.
